The UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center (CSRC)

was founded in 1969 with a commitment to foster multidisciplinary research in the service of the state of California with a presence in the local community. The Center’s research addresses the growing Chicano and Latino population.

In 2008, CSRC partnered with Roberto S. Oregel to produce volume seven of its Chicano Cinema and Media Arts Series, Casa Libre/Freedom House, a documentary about the Los Angeles-based organization Casa Libre/Freedom House and its efforts to assist unaccompanied and undocumented immigrant minors in Los Angeles.
